Feisty 50 Fitness Challenge

Are you ready to test your fitness? 2020 was a challenging year for us all, so let’s make sure we start 2021 off right. For the first time ever, we will be launching a six week Durham alumni fitness challenge. No matter who you are, where you’re at, whether you’re currently very active or are completely inactive, the aim is for each of us to do a little more to get a little fitter together. From 11 January to 19 February 2021, challenges will be released every Monday and Thursday.


  • 2 workouts per week for 6 weeks, starting on Monday 11 January 2021
  • Each Monday a new bodyweight challenge will unlock, and every Thursday will be a 3k or 5k run, walk, roll, cycle, cardio or time-based challenge
  • Baseline fitness test will take in week 1, and we will test again in the final week to see how far we’ve come

Required equipment

Stopwatch or timer for Monday, and optional smartphone with Strava (recommended) or other distance tracking app for Thursday.

Workout details will be emailed twice a week. Once you complete the work, you can upload your scores/times/reps using the form in the email. Points will be given based on participation and overall ranking.

Each workout will include a recommended warm-up and pre-workout mobility
