Oracle Learning Cloud is coming soon!

(11 December 2020)

As you may be aware, we are in the process of replacing the staff training course booking system and the use of Duo for staff training. This will see us introduce the Oracle Learning Cloud application of the Oracle portal.  Following on from the implementation of the Oracle portal for payroll and annual leave requests last year, from mid-January 2021, we will launch the first phase of Oracle Learning Cloud.

We will gradually be increasing the catalogue of courses available and you will eventually be able to book onto staff training courses here instead of using the training course booking system. The first course on Oracle Learning Cloud will be our University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion ‘required learning’ e-learning course. As well as this required learning course (the new term for mandatory training), we will also make some optional e-learning packages available to you at this time.

We will gradually be adding other courses such as Health and Safety, and Information Governance, as well as other required learning and optional training courses, by the end of 2022.

For staff, instead of using two systems for staff training (the training course booking system and Duo), you will have a single system to use. When you log into the portal, you will be able to see courses and e-learning packages, book onto them and check your learning history.

For managers, it will enable you to have visibility of your team’s learning records. For the first time, you will be able to see who has completed required learning, and who is still to undertake the training. This will support you to stay up to date with your team’s learning goals as well as legal training requirements.

We will be in touch early in the new year with more information about the launch of Oracle Learning Cloud. We are working closely with colleagues who administer and are responsible for instructor-led training within departments, and key partners from departments and faculties over the coming weeks to make this transition as smooth as possible.
