Successful funding from the Global Challenges Research Fund Collective Programme

Congratulations to Professor Claire Horwell from Earth Sciences, Professor Mike Crang and Professor Alex Densmore, both from Geography, on their successful bids for funding worth over £5.5 million by UK Research and Innovation through the Global Challenges Research Fund announced earlier today.
The successful projects are Claire’s ‘FACE-UP: Factors affecting childhood exposures to urban particulates’ based in Indonesia and Nepal, Alex’s ‘Sajag-Nepal: Planning and preparedness for the mountain hazard and risk chain in Nepal' and Mike’s ‘Fostering adaptive governance and resilience in local communities of Central Eurasia: From fragmented pasts to connected futures?’. Mike is also Co-Investigator of the ‘Resilient Silk Route Cultural Heritage Network’. Full details of the projects will be shared over the next few weeks.
