Congratulations to Professor Claire Horwell from Earth Sciences, Professor Mike Crang and Professor Alex Densmore, both from Geography, on their successful bids for funding worth over £5.5 million by UK Research and Innovation through the Global Challenges Research Fund announced earlier today.

The successful projects are Claire’s ‘FACE-UP: Factors affecting childhood exposures to urban particulates’ based in Indonesia and Nepal, Alex’s ‘Sajag-Nepal: Planning and preparedness for the mountain hazard and risk chain in Nepal' and Mike’s ‘Fostering adaptive governance and resilience in local communities of Central Eurasia: From fragmented pasts to connected futures?’. Mike is also Co-Investigator of the ‘Resilient Silk Route Cultural Heritage Network’. Full details of the projects will be shared over the next few weeks.
