Supporting local charities with this year's Christmas Wish Tree

(20 November 2020)

Our Christmas Wish Tree will be a little different this year, but will still provide much-needed support, especially during these uncertain times. Staff and students are invited to donate an amount of their choice to one or both of this year’s charities - Children North East and REfUSE - which will help them to provide items from their Christmas wish lists! Find out more and how to get involved.

How to get involved

  1. Visit the donation pages for our chosen charities this year - you can choose to support one or both charities:

OR

As of next week, scan a QR codes on our Christmas Wish Tree in Bill Bryson Library, located on Level 2 opposite the Help and Information Desk, or on the posters displayed in your College

Find out more about this year’s charities, which have been chosen by representatives from Durham Students’ Union:

  • Children North East, who work with children and young people in their families, schools and communities to ensure they grow up to be healthy and happy.
  • REfUSE is a community café in Chester-le-Street, who intercept food before it becomes waste and use it to make food to serve in their community cafe.
