Catalan event - Passat, present i futur del teatre català. Evolució i noves escenes

(20 November 2020)

You are cordially invited to a double online session about Catalan theatre organised in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and Institut Ramon Llull, in which we will be able to hear many experts in the field on Wednesday 25 November and 2 December between 5pm-6pm. For more information on this event, please contact neus.colomer-collell@durham.ac.uk.

The first session will take place on 25 November and it will be a conversation in English between Mercè Saumell, professor at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, and David Espinosa, a Valencian artist and one of the strongest defenders of the object theatre. We will talk about this movement and how the scenic arts are adapting to the corrent situation. Espinosa will also delight us with a fragment of his show ‘Una conferència espectacular’.

The second session will take place on 2 December. We will have the pleasure of listening to different pieces of theatre plays from all times, thanks to actors Pau Vinyals and Queralt Casasayas. A journey through the Catalan scene with great plays of classical authors as well as more contemporary ones. There will be some time at the end for Q&A.
