New reading list system: Talis Aspire
(25 September 2020)
The new reading lists system, Talis Aspire, is now ready for you to use. This will improve the student experience and allow course tutors to edit their lists directly. If you already had a reading list on DUO, this will have been automatically copied to Talis Aspire.
All academic staff involved in teaching should have received an email with the subject line “Invitation to become a list publisher in Talis Aspire”. This contained a personalised link to give you editing rights in the new system. If you have not received this email, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
To help you get started on Talis Aspire, University Library and Collections are running Talis Aspire drop-in training sessions next week on Tuesday from 10am-11am and Thursday from 2pm-3pm to help you get started with the new reading list system.
Each session will last an hour. The first part (approximately 30 minutes) will provide a basic overview to help you get started; the second will give you a chance to ask any questions. You can come to all or part of a session and just drop-in to any of the Q&As whenever you have a question.
The basic overview will cover:
• Accessing an existing reading list or creating a new one
• Adding new items to a list or removing items no longer required
• Requesting items for purchase through Talis Aspire
• Requesting items for digitisation through Talis Aspire
There is no need to book, just go to the Talis Aspire training webpage for the meeting link (you will need to log into this page using your normal username and password).
A series of self-help guides are also available to help you get started.
