Howlands Car Park - temporary reduction of parking space

(18 September 2020)

The University is working with Durham County Council to set up a Covid-19 Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) at the Howlands site. This will allow both members of the University and the general public who show any symptoms of Covid-19, including a high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of taste or smell, to get tested. Tests are strictly by appointment only and anyone who turns up to the site without an appointment will not be tested. Please note that appointments are not made by the University.

People must book tests in advance using the website or calling 119.

To make space for the MTU, part of the Howlands car park will be temporarily closed. The closure will be in place from Friday 18th September for five days, and then from Monday 28 September until further notice.

Access to a number of parking spaces at the Howlands car park will still be available. However staff are encouraged to make use of all University car parks across our estate. A map showing the locations of our car parks can be found here.
