Big 3 update
(18 September 2020)
As part of the Big 3 project we've been working behind the scenes to replace some legacy infrastructure that was still in our network. Work concluded on Monday 14 September allows us to report that the 52 servers that support the entire virtual server environment for the University have been moved to the new network.
This allows us to offer a higher level of availability assurance and increase security making the University more resilient to cyber-attacks.
The move of ~850 virtual servers and all of the University's CIS-supported data storage away from the legacy network infrastructure, also permits more cost effective operation and establishes a strong basis from which to further develop our network into the future.
