MRC CiC Funding 2020

(4 September 2020)

The MRC Confidence in Concept (CiC) is a block grant that can be used flexibly by a university to support a number of preliminary-stage translational projects. Durham has secured £199,200 in this year’s round and we expect to be able to make three awards.

The core purpose of the funding is to:

  • Ensure that fundamental science is translated into new therapies, diagnostics and medical devices.
  • Accelerate the transition from discovery science to the early stages of development by providing responsive and flexible funding to support preliminary translational work.
  • Support preliminary-stage translational projects.
  • Provide sufficient preliminary data to establish the viability of an approach before seeking more substantial funding

Guidelines and more information on the funding can be found here
