Infrastructure Improvements project update
(28 August 2020)
As part of the £6m Infrastructure Improvements project to enhance movement around the University, works past the Ogden Centre for Fundamental Physics to the Islamic Prayer Room and Hollingside Lane started on Monday 17th August. Further works from Fountains Hall to Hollingside Lane will start on Monday 7th September, with an expected duration of two weeks.
These parts of the project will involve the installation of a new shared footpath/cycle path and crossings between the Islamic Prayer Room and Grey College, as well as widened footpaths, a new cycle path behind the Department of Physics through Little High Wood and a white lined walkway between the Ogden Centre and the Department of Physics.
Narrow lane and priority system closures will be required to allow access on to verge areas to construct the footpaths. Please follow signed diversions and a traffic marshal will be on site to guide you through the works where required.
If you would like to know more on the progress of the project, the August newsletter will be out soon and previous publications can be found by visiting www.durham.ac.uk/infrastructure.
