Our Virtual Open Event has launched
(10 July 2020)
On Friday 3 July, an invitation went out to 14,380 individuals booked to attend our very first Virtual Open Event. We had 13,383 sign-ups for individual Live Events by Monday morning, with over 1,297 individuals attending Monday's sessions alone.
By the end of today we will have delivered 99 sessions, with the peak being 27 sessions delivered on Tuesday, including eight sessions that ran concurrently at 11 am.
It's been a busy week and initial feedback has been outstanding, with some attendees saying it was the best of all of the university open day sessions they had attended. Comments so far include:
"The presenters were excellent answered questions very clearly and the switching between them made it like a TV show - very good session."
"It was extremely helpful. Thank you."
"The live event was very informative and useful."
Staff and Durham Student Ambassadors have continued practicing, held drop-in sessions and run focused dry-runs to mirror as much as possible what each live session would entail.
We will continue running drop-in sessions to offer additional support and we are encouraging colleagues in the same event to meet up to practice ahead of their sessions.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of these events. And a special mention to those who have volunteered their time to support the technical elements of delivery.
