UCAS Embargo Training
(10 July 2020)
Every year we receive results early for a number of qualifications. To ensure we continue to receive these early, we must adhere to the UCAS embargo. You don’t need to be directly involved in admissions to be at risk of breaching the embargo; it applies to anyone who may come into contact with any of our applicants receiving results. The training covers scenarios we might encounter, including some you may not have thought would cause problems, and is available here.
It's possible to break the embargo without even realising and this training will help everyone avoid that situation. Given current circumstances, this year more than ever we may get applicants trying to contact anyone they can for information, particularly as they are more likely to be more anxious than usual. This year, UCAS have provided two routes for the training, a full module which takes 15-20 minutes to complete, and an updated short course for 2020, which is around 10-15 minutes, for those who have completed the training in previous years and feel comfortable with the content.
