Free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC)
(10 July 2020)
Consider Change and Innovation this summer - two free MOOCs to help you with your personal development. For the past four years students have benefited from the MOOC offering, and registration is now open for Durham University Business School’s two open online courses, 'Leading and Managing People-Centred Change' and 'Harnessing Open Innovation'. Both start on Monday 13 July and run over three weeks in association with FutureLearn.
Leading and Managing People-Centred Change
If you’re looking to learn how to bring people with you as you lead or manage organisational change and navigate challenges along the way, then this free online course could be for you! It offers insight and research into the latest thinking for people new to leadership roles and practitioners in human resources, organisational development and internal communications. Change does not need to be overwhelming if it is managed well – find out how.
The course is being delivered by Professor Julie Hodges, Associate Dean for MBA and DBA Programmes and Professor in Management. Julie’s research interests are in change and the impact of change and transformation on people in organisations.
Harnessing Open Innovation
In today’s world, the development of new products and services is not confined within one organisation or indeed one country. To succeed, businesses must be willing to work with others, to spot and develop ideas – a model known as open innovation. Discover how to find ideas for innovation from the outside world – for example, suppliers, competitors or customers – and integrate them into your own supply chain to develop new processes, products and services.
The course is being delivered by Professor Christos Tsinopoulos, Head of Department Management and Marketing, and Professor in Operations and Project Management. Christos teaches on MBA and MSC programmes and his research interests are in open innovation across the supply chain.
