Virtual Open Days
(19 June 2020)
Open Days become virtual open month. Throughout July, we will be hosting a series of live virtual events to showcase the best of Durham University to our prospective students, replacing our on-campus Pre-application Open Days.
Kicking off on 3 July, we will host a series of webinars with future students and their parents/carers to help them learn more about our University and answer any questions they may have. As well as accessing our webinars, visitors can also browse our Open Day pages to view materials created by colleagues on a wide range of subjects. So far, we are planning on holding over 300 sessions across July with sessions on academic subjects, Colleges, the Wider Student Experience and our Professional Support Services. Each session needs additional role support than a typical on-campus event, such as producers, moderators and presenters.
Recruitment and Admissions is partnering with Computing and Information Services (CIS) to deliver our very first Virtual Open Month using Microsoft Live Events.
Pre-application Open Days are the flag ship opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore Durham, and in the absence of on-site delivery, our challenge is to showcase all that is unique and critical to the Durham experience via virtual delivery.
We are just putting the finishing touches to the programme of work now and will be ready to share this with you soon. Thanks to everyone who has committed to taking part and volunteering their time to make these virtual open sessions a huge success, it is very much appreciated.
