Designing digitally for active learning workshop

(11 June 2020)

This online workshop, delivered by DCAD via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, will introduce the key ideas behind the pedagogy of active learning and detail a range of appropriate activities to support a blended mix of face to face and online learning. Places for the workshop are limited, and joining instructions and an optional pre-session task will be sent prior to the session. Attendance on "An Introduction to Teaching and Learning Online" prior to this workshop is preferable but not essential. For further details and to book online, please visit the website

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • use a pedagogic model to design a blended course with appropriate activities, assessments, tutor engagement, peer interaction, community-building, and monitoring;
  • write and signpost appropriately for your online learning materials;
  • apply principles of good and inclusive online learning to course design.
