Safeguarding from Radicalisation (Prevent Duty) Workshop: Places available
(28 February 2020)
A number of places remain available on the ‘Safeguarding from Radicalisation’ workshop taking place on Wednesday 25 March 2020. Please visit the Training Course Booking system to book your place now. Please note: 'Safeguarding from Radicalisation' training is also available via e-learning courses on DUO. We have an 'initial' training course and a shorter 'refresher' training course available to all staff. If you require any further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ‘Safeguarding from Radicalisation’ workshop is designed to raise awareness of the government’s Prevent agenda which is part of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy. As one of a number of ‘specified authorities’ the University has a statutory duty to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”.
This two hour workshop will focus on safeguarding and support. We will consider the influencing factors potentially involved with radicalisation, explore how to recognise individuals who may be vulnerable and in need of support, and cover the core structure of ‘Notice-Check-Share’ (the procedure for sharing concerns to receive a proportionate response).
Please note this content is also available via e-learning courses on DUO. We have an 'initial' training course and a shorter 'refresher' training course available to all staff in the ‘My Organisations and Online Training’ area of your DUO homepage.
