Blather and Lather for International Women's Day
(28 February 2020)
Come along for an evening of friendship, food and good clean fun on Sunday 8 March at 7.30pm in the Old Cinema Launderette, Gilesgate. We are delighted to welcome three women with three very different talks. Dr Sui-Ting Kong will talk about “Gender and the democratic movement in Hong Kong” Sue Fox will be talking about WI through the years in “All they do is make Jam” and Dr Joanna Berry will be talking about the Imposter Syndrome and why we should resist it.
All proceeds will go towards the chosen charities of the speakers. Families in Care in Newcastle, County Durham Community Foundation and Smartworks. Bags of useful (clean, interview-ready) clothing and accessories brought on the night would also be great.
Tickets for the evening are £5.50 and can be purchased here.
Please bring along some food for sharing and a bra to wash - the bar will be open and it’s a great chance to meet Durham women, share experience and laughter and enjoy this unique venue in true celebration of International Women’s Day.
