Gender Equality in International Development Research workshop

(31 January 2020)

The Research Development team is running a workshop on “Gender Equality in International Development Research”, to which we are inviting colleagues from all North East academic institutions working in International Development Research. This will take place on Friday 14 February at the Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidan's College, 10.30am to 3.30pm.

The workshop will inform and guide academic colleagues about the issues they need to consider around Gender Equality when designing International Development projects, and what UKRI’s expectations are in this respect, including guidance on writing Gender Equality statements for GCRF proposals. The workshop will include presentations from Dr. Baljinder Bains, International Development Team: Policy Manager at UKRI, and academic colleagues with experience of incorporating gender into international development research, as well as an interactive session.

The workshop will take place on 14 February at Lindisfarne Centre, St. Aidan’s College, (10.30am – 3.30pm). If you would like to attend, please register your interest here https://form.jotformeu.com/93154341708355.

Deadline for registration is 5pm on Monday 10th February. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but we will monitor registrations to ensure a mix of people from different Institutions and at differing career stages. Workshop places will be confirmed on Tuesday 11th February. Registrants will receive further information about the workshop in due course.
