Holocaust Memorial Day 2020

(24 January 2020)

Ustinov College is partnering with the Durham University Jewish Society to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2020. Holocaust Memorial Day is the international day to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, and the millions of people murdered under Nazi persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. The talk will take place on Tuesday 28 January at 6.30pm room ER140, Elvet Riverside. Free to attend, all staff and students welcome.

We will be hosting Marta Josephs, the daughter of Holocaust survivor, Andrew Frenkel. Marta will be telling her father’s story, emphasising the importance of the stories of survivors being passed down and the duty of the descendants of survivors to pass on those stories.
