Durham University Light Opera Group presents Oklahoma at the Gala Theatre in Durham between Tuesday 21 - Saturday 25 January. The Rogers and Hammerstein classic, since adapted into the beloved film, features iconic songs such as 'Oh what a Beautiful Morning', 'Surrey with a Fringe on Top' and of course 'Oklahoma!'. With nearly 100 students involved in making the production, this promises to be a brilliant show. Tickets are £14.50/£9.50/£8.50 (standard/concession/DST) and they are available on the Gala Theatre website or by ringing the box office on 03000 266 600.

Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colourful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.
