24 hours of football
(8 November 2019)
Kicking off at 7pm tonight, Collingwood College AFC is running a continuous 24-hour football match in aid of the Sir Stanley Matthews Coaching Foundation. The foundation seeks to change the lives of disadvantaged children through sport and has initiatives all over the world.
Throughout the night the match will continue. An abundance of goals is expected with last year’s event finishing 301-297 in spite of some heroic goalkeeping efforts by CCAFC’s Tom Verniers, who played for all 24 hours of the match.
CCAFC is seeking to use this event to connect with the wider Durham community. Anyone is welcome and this year local junior teams have been invited to partake in the match and help support this fantastic cause!
Any support or donations for this event would be warmly welcomed. The link for the event’s Virgin Money Giving Page can be found here.
