Staff volunteers needed - Durham Foodbank

(4 October 2019)

The Staff Volunteering team is looking for ten volunteers to assist Durham Foodbank on Friday 8 November, 9.30am-1.30pm. The task will involve sorting and packing donations at the food store in Chester-le-street. If you or your team are available and willing to assist the charity, please email community.engagement@durham.ac.uk.

Durham Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK. In 2018/19, The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network provided 1,583,668 three-day emergency food supp lies and support to UK people in crisis. Of these, 577,618 went to children.

Volunteers are crucial in the smooth running of this ever-growing operation!
