Fairtrade Fortnight 25 February - 10 March 2019

(22 February 2019)

Fairtrade Fortnight will take place between Monday, 25 February and Sunday, 10 March. It provides an opportunity for all University staff and students to find out more about Fairtrade and how they can support it. This year's Environment Week will also be incorporated into the Fairtrade celebrations. Further details regarding Fairtrade can be found on the Greenspace website.

Throughout the fortnight staff and students can take part in the Big Fairtrade Bake - sign up is still open if you wish to take part and receive free flour and sugar, until end of Monday 25 February. All we ask is that you submit a photo of your Fairtrade Bake during the fortnight to be entered into a prize draw for a selection of Fairtrade goodies. Participating staff and students may also wish to organise a Big Fairtrade Bake Sale or similar events to raise money for charities of their choice.

A 10% discount is also available for staff and students when purchasing Fairtrade products from the Durham University Retail shop www.shop.dur.ac.uk/

All users of the Small Island Cafe and any YUM outlet can receive 20p off a hot drink when using their mugs. This initiative is available all year round.
