Safeguarding from Radicalisation (Prevent Duty) workshop

(20 February 2019)

Places remain available for this workshop on Tuesday, 26 February. The aim is to raise awareness of the government’s 'Prevent' agenda - part of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy. We have a statutory duty to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”. Please visit the Training Course Booking system to book your place. 'Safeguarding from Radicalisation' training is also available via an e-learning course on DUO. If you require any further information, please contact Michelle Taylor on 0191 3346494 or michelle.taylor@durham.ac.uk.

This two hour workshop will focus on safeguarding and support. We will consider the influencing factors potentially involved with radicalisation, explore how to recognise individuals who may be vulnerable and in need of support, and cover the core structure of ‘Notice-Check-Share’ (the procedure for sharing concerns to receive a proportionate response).
