Periodic review: Green Paper consultation
(13 February 2019)
All colleagues are invited to respond to the Senate Periodic Review Working Group's Green Paper. The Paper sets out high level recommendations for the future of the Periodic Review process. The Green Paper and consultation are available online. Your response will inform the Working Group's White Paper to May 2019 Senate. If you have any queries, please email either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Periodic Review Working Group was established following discussion at May 2017 Senate of the importance of revising the framework for the process of Periodic Reviews.
The terms of reference and membership of the Working Group were subsequently approved by June 2018 Senate, and were supported by informal dialogue between the Chair of the Working Group (Gordon Love, Head of Department of Computer Science) and key stakeholders.
Periodic Review needs to be fit for purpose in supporting management to deliver the University Strategy approved by Senate and Council. A robust Periodic Review process will reinforce the ability of departments, colleges and URIs to contribute towards the achievement of the Strategy.
The Working Group’s White Paper is scheduled for May 2019 Senate and will include detailed implementation proposals where required in support of specific recommendations. Subject to the approval of its recommendations, it is anticipated that the new framework will apply to all Periodic Reviews from the start of the academic year 2019-20.
