Postgrowth Imaginaries

(25 January 2019)

A book presentation of Postgrowth Imaginaries: New Ecologies and Counterhegemonic Culture in Post-2008 Spain by Dr Luis I. Prádanos, Miami University, will take place on Tuesday, 5 February at 4pm in A56, Elvet Riverside. This talk will incorporate some of the key ideas behind the concept of “postgrowth imaginaries” and their significance for the Environmental Humanities today. All are welcome.

Dr. Prádanos is a leading figure in ecocriticism and energy humanities. In 2017, he edited a special section on “Contemporary Iberian Ecocriticism and New Materialisms” (Letras Hispanas Journal) and co-edited a special number on “South Atlantic Ecocriticism” (Ecozon@ Journal). His new book is a stimulating exploration of the dominant imaginary of growth and its alternatives.
