Durham University and College Union (DUCU) lecture series

(5 December 2018)

All are welcome to the first lecture in the series entitled 'A Fairer University', given by Dr Sue Abbott, Newcastle University, on Wednesday,12 December, 7.30pm in the Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidan’s College. Sue will speak on 'The Gender Pay Gap in Higher Education: How Can We Tackle This In The Culture of Neoliberalism and Marketisation?'. There will be further discussion afterwards. 

Dr Sue Abbott is Senior Lecturer in Management at Newcastle University Business School. Prior to this Sue worked as a Senior Lecturer (Human Resource Management) at Northumbria University Business School. Her roles outside academia have included Senior HR consultant (Newcastle City Council) and Brigade Personnel and Equality officer (Tyne and Wear Fire Service). Sue is on the UCU National Executive Committee and is the Chair of the Women Members’ Standing Committee.
