Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Capital Award
(30 November 2018)
The EPSRC has awarded the University an institutional block grant of £150,000 from its capital budget to procure new equipment. The funding is based on Durham’s historical performance in schemes targeted at supporting Early Career Researchers (ECRs), as well as capital demand in those schemes.
The Research Equipment Group at Durham has contributed £50,000 towards this award, therefore, increasing the overall funding to £200,000. The funds are being managed by the EPSRC Liaison Group, Chaired by Professor John Girkin and will be allocated through two dedicated funding calls. Awards will typically be in the range of £10,000–£50,000 (including VAT).
The funding is open to ECRs but the panel will consider applications from the broader Engineering and Physical Sciences community to support individuals who are new to academia and those returning after a career break.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, 19 December 2018. For guidelines and information on how to apply please contact email@example.com.
Please note, there will be another call in spring 2019, further details will be confirmed in due course.
