The Plight of Malawian Youth: Seeking Solutions

(1 June 2018)

Join Paul Chiwaya, Ruth First Scholar 2018 and co-founder of Positive Youth Development Initiative to explore challenges faced by young people in Malawi. This seminar will take place on Thursday, 7 June at 5pm in the Lindisfarne Centre at St Aidan's College. Please contact sa.scholarly@durham.ac.uk for more information and to register your interest. Light refreshments provided.

73% of Malawi’s population is aged below 30. Young people represent rich assets with the potential to support Malawi’s socio-economic development. But a critical look at the status of young people in Malawi reveals their potential is not being realised.

This seminar is presented by St Aidan’s College Resilience Forum in partnership with Ruth First Educational Trust, St Chads College and Durham University's Social Work Department.
