IHRR Workshop - Ethical dilemmas in practice

(17 January 2018)

This workshop will take place on Wednesday, 31 January 2018 between 2pm and 4pm at the Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidan’s College. Ethical considerations are a fundamental part of research and scholars often grapple with how to ethically shape and engage their work. At times, it can be difficult to understand how to proceed. In this workshop, scholars from different departments will share ethical dilemmas they encounter. If you would like to learn more about this event, please contact Hanna Ruszczyk, the Post Doctoral Research Associate of IHRR at h.a.ruszczyk@durham.ac.uk. If you are interested in attending, please email ihrr.admin@durham.ac.uk by Wednesday, 24 January giving your name and department,including any special dietary requirements you have.

Speakers include Geoff Moore from DUBS who will discuss his work with ethics in business, Elisabeth Kirtsoglou from Anthropology will discuss her engagement with refugees, Katie Oven from Geography will discuss her work in the development and disasters fields and lastly, Sarah Hughes from Geography will discuss ethics in her research with asylum seekers in the UK.
