Drop in sessions

Further to previous communications via Durham DOES, you will be aware that the University is proposing a job families approach for Professional Services Staff. Over the last week Faculty, Departmental and College representatives, Trade Union representatives, Training Champions and Durham DOES reference group members have attended workshops or received other briefings to look at the proposed approach. They will be discussing this within teams but if you would like to discuss the proposed approach with members of the project team please come along to the drop in sessions that are taking place next week. Your thoughts and ideas are welcome. The sessions are:

  • Monday, 13 November, 12.30pm - 3.30pm, PC005, Palatine Centre
  • Thursday,16 November, 9am - 12.00pm, Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidans College

Further information 

Job families can have a number of characteristics but in general:

  • Job families consist of groups of jobs which share similar characteristics
  • Within each family there are a number of roles profiles against which individual jobs can be matched
  • The core nature of activities carried out is similar across levels within the families
  • The skills, competencies and responsibilities differ between each level
