Unconscious Bias and the NEW Respecting Others Workshops Available for Booking

(6 September 2017)

The full programme of scheduled Unconscious Bias and Respecting Others: Challenging Negative Behaviours workshops from September 2017 to June 2018 are available to all staff via the Training Course Booking System www.dur.ac.uk/training.course/diversity/.

The Unconscious Bias workshop explores our implicit people preferences, the ways in which we subconsciously process information and how our subconscious processes can result in faulty and sometimes biased decisions. We consider how this affects work in departments and across the University, and review techniques to help reduce the impact of bias.

Respecting Others: Challenging Negative Behaviours is a 3 hour interactive workshop. We explore negative behaviours in the workplace and how to effectively challenge those negative behaviours. The workshop will concentrate on possible strategies and approaches to use. Please note this workshop will involve skills practice.

If you require any further information then please contact Michelle Taylor, Equality and Diversity Trainer on 0191 3346494 or michelle.taylor@durham.ac.uk
