Travel Security Training - Control Risks

(23 June 2017)

The University now has access to online travel security training through Control Risks which is aimed at travellers going to medium and high risk areas on University business. A number of staff from the International Office have completed the training and positive feedback has been received. The training module can be accessed here and the training takes approximately 50 minutes.

When first accessing the training, each user will need to click ‘Register’ and enter their details to create their own unique account before being directed to the training hub where the ‘Advanced Security’ icon should be selected in order to launch the e-learning. The training comprises a brief introduction and 5 modules which are:

  • Surveillance awareness
  • Journey planning and preparation
  • Reaction to an incident
  • Introduction to kidnap
  • Kidnap survival

From the Introduction screen, in order to get into the actual training modules you will need to click the “home” button at the top right of the screen.

If you have any queries on the online training or are finding it difficult to access the training modules please contact claire.robinson@durham.ac.uk or on extension 49266.
