CIS planned maintenance of multiple services

CIS will be carrying out maintenance work on our new storage platforms between 7am on Monday 3 August and 8.30pm on Thursday 6 August. We do not expect disruption to services, but due to the nature of the maintenance key services should be considered at risk during the maintenance window.

Covid-19 internal communications - your feedback

We’re very aware that the situation over the last few months has created a surge in our internal communications. We’ve been providing regular updates, seeking opinions and pointing to sources of information and guidance – all of which has been important to do, but the frequency of communications might perhaps at times have seemed overwhelming. We want to make sure that in the coming weeks and months we’re able to communicate on the topics that are of most interest and help to you, and that we’re using the right methods to do so. We’d therefore be very grateful if you could complete this two-minute survey (by 7 August) to let us know what you want to find out more about and how that can best be achieved.

Additional workshops have now been added for August and September. Learn how to better manage your workloads and at the same time enhance your knowledge and use of the new IT tools with a view to customising and streamlining processes, maintaining an ‘empty’ inbox, efficiently managing meetings and much more.

Staying safe on campus - your experiences

Our work to ensure that our campus is Covid-secure is progressing well. As colleagues return to the workplace and adopt new ways of working, we'll share a series of short videos highlighting some of the practical steps we are taking to protect the health and safety of our University community. In this short video, Liz Waller, director of the University Library and Collections, talks about how the team have carefully planned their return to campus and how they're staying safe by working in small bubbles, practising social distancing and staggering start and finish times. You can find out more about staying safe on campus on our website.

What has change meant to you? Help to refocus

In continuing to prioritise our wellbeing, and given we are now working so differently, it can be helpful to use a change theory as a framework to help us refocus and prepare for what happens next. The HR-OD team has made a 'Stream' Presentation where we consider Kurt Lewin’s change model – this encourages you to pause and contemplate what these changes have meant for you and what you might do differently in the future. Further general wellbeing guidance and support can be found on the Wellbeing and Working Differently web HUB
