Assembly Rooms Theatre - Open Day

Oracle Cloud introduction: expenses and advances deadline
On Monday 4 November, our current People+ HR and Finance systems will be replaced by Oracle Cloud, a cloud-based computer system which we believe will offer a much improved service across payroll, HR, expenses, recruitment, timesheets and absence. An email that has been sent to all staff detailing key messages and actions ahead of the ‘Go Live’ date can be found here.
Report and Support tool launched
An online tool has been recently launched; which enables students and staff to make an anonymous report and, where contact details are provided, obtain support and guidance from a designated staff member or request for the University to take formal action. Hate incidents, as well as incidents of bullying and harassment, sexual misconduct and violence and domestic abuse can be reported. Sexual Misconduct and Violence Policy: Training available now for all staff
At any time, someone you know, work with, teach, or care about could disclose to you that they have been subjected to sexual violence or domestic abuse. If they do, then how you respond in the moment that follows matters a great deal. We run free training courses to help staff to understand how best to respond if someone discloses to them, highlighting the responsiblities that all staff have under the Sexual Misconduct and Violence Policy. TurningPoint Lunch and Learn
The Durham Centre for Academic Development will be hosting a TurningPoint Lunch and Learn session on Thursday 7 November. This session will be led by staff from Turning Technologies and include examples of how staff at Durham are using TurningPoint to support their practice. The session will take place from noon to 2.30pm in the Teaching and Learning Centre and lunch will be provided. Places are available to academic staff only. X12 route will travel via Teesside Park from 27 October
The X12 Arriva bus will change its route from 27 October to include Teesside Park. There have also been changes to the time the bus leaves Durham Bus Station and Durham University Science Site. For more information about the X12 route visit the Arriva website or pick up a leaflet from reception points from 27 October 2019.
Marshals needed for Winter Congregation 2020
Staff are invited to get involved at Winter Congregation (Thursday 9 and Friday 10 January) by volunteering to marshal. You will be working with colleagues from across the University to provide advice and guidance to students, guests and staff attending ceremonies. Please sign up at durham.ac.uk/ceremonies/congregation/marshals by Sunday 24 November. Instructions and training will be provided in advance and lunch plus cakes/refreshments will be supplied in the Cathedral Restaurant.
