PGR Conference: Global Challenges

(25 September 2020)

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Health will be hosting their second interdisciplinary PGR Conference, solely online. The theme of the conference, which will take place on Friday 20 November, is 'Global Challenges' and the Organising Committee invites proposals that fit the over-arching 'Global Challenges' theme.

The conference will provide opportunities for PGR students to lead oral presentations to promote interdisciplinary discussion about how research can meet societal challenges and effect change. The conference will feature a plenary lecture and workshops on academic networking and writing for publication.

Oral papers (presented online) will be arranged in interdisciplinary sessions and papers may address issues in, for example, education, human rights, ethics, physical resources, business and finance, climate change, social order / disorder, justice, equity, mental health and international policy and relations.

Details regarding the presentation proposal submission process and the criteria that will be used for assessing abstracts can be found on the Faculty of Social Sciences and Health webpage

The deadline for receipt of proposals is 5pm on Friday 16 October 2020.

Please note that there is no charge to PGR students presenting or joining the conference. Registration for the conference will be open to presenters and attendees from 2nd October.
