Fruit picking volunteering day

The Staff Volunteering and Outreach team is arranging a fruit picking day on Thursday, 26 September. The plan is to walk around the University grounds collecting fruit which will be passed onto the charity, REfUSE. The day will start at approximately 9am and finish at 3pm. All staff are welcome to join in for the full day or for an hour or so, however long you can manage. We will provide a map of where fruit trees can be found, and this will also include information on what can and can't be picked. We will collect all fruit from your department at the end of the day. More information on REfUSE can be found here. If you would like to get involved, please email

Mental Health Training Modules

Mental health and wellbeing affects everyone. To help staff recognise the signs of poor mental health in themselves and others, we have developed a suite of mental health training modules. The modules are available on DUO and we encourage all staff to complete the core modules. Additional modules are available if you are a line manager, or you deal with students on a regular basis.
