The latest round of Durham’s EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) is now open. The ESPRC IAA provides a bridge between the outputs of EPSRC funded research and later commercialisation activities.

Knowledge Across Borders webinar
As part of our close partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, we have launched a joint webinar series called Knowledge Across Borders. Over 450 people from 34 countries registered for the inaugural webinar which focused on the field of palaeontology. The recording of this first webinar is now available to view here.

New training sessions for Managers
HR-OD are offering new virtual workshops to help Managers to support their teams during these challenging times, including a session on 'Confident Wellbeing Conversations' by external trainer Dave Alego and a session on 'Managing Hybrid Teams during Change' delivered by external trainer Craig Smith. Places on the workshops can be booked via the Training Course Booking System.

Password security: act now
We recently asked you to review your passwords to ensure the safety and security of your accounts. Whilst we recognise that the majority of staff and students will already have acted on this request, if you haven’t we need you to do so now. Fraudsters are actively attempting to hack accounts and often target weak passwords as an easy way to gain access to systems.

The Internationalist - a new podcast series from the ACU
As a member institution of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), we would like to share information about 'The Internationalist', a new podcast series launched to generate conversations about current debates in higher education. The podcast takes on big topics such as 'decolonising higher education', 'the student experience on campus' and 'can the curriculum be authentic to where it's taught?'. You can find the podcast on all major podcast platforms, and there is more information about it on the ACU’s website here.
Update on Winter Congregation 2021
Earlier this week, we advised those students eligible to attend Winter 2021 Congregation ceremonies that we have taken the decision to postpone these ceremonies. This is due to the ongoing significant measures designed to manage the spread of Covid-19.
