Offering Work to Tier 4 International Students

May we remind all staff that from Monday 13 March, before any work can be allocated to an international student who holds a Tier 4 visa, the hiring manager (including students who engage other students to carry out work) must contact the Student Working Authorisation Team to obtain a verification code. Without the verification code the student cannot be paid. Please contact hr.studentworking@durham.ac.uk or 41653 for further information. Please note this is an updated email address as previously communicated in the email circulated on Friday, 3 March to advise of the new process. The original email is no longer in use.

Reminder about quarantine process

At the start of every term we need to check that our students’ computers have the latest anti-virus and anti-spyware updates and system patches. It’s an important process that keeps their devices and our networks secure. If their computer doesn’t pass through the scan, they won’t be able to connect it to the University’s student network. Please help us to get students connected smoothly. If you’re teaching or meeting with students next week, remind them to look out for an email from the IT service desk over the Easter break, and to scan their devices early.
