ESRC Call for Evidence - Knowledge and Skills Needs
(6 October 2017)
The focus is on identifying strategically important knowledge and skills that require intervention to improve the UK's social science capability and/or capacity. This call for evidence will run until Tuesday, 31 October and the inputs used to inform discussions about the actions ESRC might take to address priority needs, and used as context to inform a range of ESRC activities. ESRC is looking for evidence of the high-level skills gaps from PhD students to senior professionals/academics and from early to late stage careers. They would really encourage you to participate if you have relevant evidence, and would be also grateful if you could publicise and encourage non-academic partners to highlight evidence they have. Further information can be found on the ESRC website and if you have any specific questions please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The skills needed to ensure the world-leading status of UK social science research and the continued competitiveness of the UK economy i.e. skills gaps in both academia and, importantly, those needed in UK society more widely, including gaps interdisciplinary interfaces.
