BA International Relations (L250)

The programme aims to give students a systematic understanding of the discipline of international relations, including detailed knowledge of core issues within the field, drawing on theoretical and empirical material. Such core issues include the dynamic nature of the international order, regional elements of the international system, the role of institutions, and the nature of policy and decision-making in international relations.

Students will acquire an appreciation of, and ability to engage with, current areas of contestation and debate, including those at the forefront of research, as well as gaining a wider understanding of key questions relating to research methods used in the field. They will be able, following the completion of their studies, to describe and comment upon current research and possess knowledge and skills to enable them to complete their own research, employing the appropriate techniques and analysis methods.
