Ian Marchant: Are we at an energy tipping point?
In the second of Ian Marchant's public lectures at Durham Energy Institute, Ian discusses the trends and big themes that have been playing out in the Electricity Industry this decade, and asks if we have reached a tipping point. The event was co-hosted with the Energy Institute, for which Ian was formerly the President.
Ian Marchant is a Durham Alumnus and Visiting Professor at Durham. He is a leading figure in the UK Energy Industry having held the role of Chief Executive of SSE plc, a leading UK energy utility company, for over 10 years until 2013. He is also the former Chairman of Scotland's 2020 Climate Delivery Group and former Chairman of Infinis Energy plc. He continues to hold a variety of roles including Chairman of Wood Group, non-executive Chairman Nova Innovation and non-executive director of Aggreko plc and Linknode and Chairman of Maggie's Cancer Charity.
