Sunday, 9 July 2017 to Friday, 14 July 2017

Details

The Congress theme is 'Gower, His Contemporaries, and Their Legacy in MSS and Early Printed Books, 1350-1550'. The local organizers are Elizabeth Archibald and Corinne Saunders (Department of English Studies, Durham), and the co-chairs are Martha Driver (Early Book Society) and Bob Yeager (John Gower Society). The conference runs from Sunday 9th to Friday 14th July, with drinks receptions on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th July, and the conference dinner on Thursday 13th July. Optional excursions can be booked on Wednesday afternoon and on Friday.

Accommodation options are available via this registration site at Hatfield College view here - or at University College (Durham Castle) view here - or at the Radisson Blu Hotel view here.

Please note that there are a number of steep hills in Durham, including between the Colleges where accommodation is and the conference venue. Do let us know when you register if you have mobility difficulties and we will try to accommodate these where possible.

For more information about the conference, the venue, alternative accommodation, the city of Durham and how to get there, see the fuller description on the websites of both societies or the Department of English Studies, Durham University.
