Durham University is hosting the Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference (TRAC) 2017, one of the biggest gathering of Roman archaeologists and classical scholars in the world.

Interdisciplinary and international, Durham TRAC will be bringing together academics to discuss all aspects of the Roman Empire (and beyond).

Supported by the Departments of Archaeology and Classics at Durham and UNESCO, TRAC will be opened by the Vice Chancellor of The University, Professor Stuart Corbridge with the opening keynote lecture being delivered by Dr Hella Eckardt of Reading University.

Venue: Calman Learning Centre, University Science Site.

  • Registration Fee - Waged (GBP 65.00)
    To ensure the safe and smooth running of the pre-conference excursions and the on-site lectures, we have a few simple rules which we require participants to follow:
    • Follow instructions given by the leader(s) of the excursion and/or on-site lectures.
    • Respect all others using the sites.
    • Take appropriate measures when moving around the sites as some may be have restrictions on access and may be less safe in certain weathers
    • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear while out on the site Conduct and Health and Safety are a collective responsibility: they are important issues for all participants, not just group leaders. As a participant in the excursions and/or on-site lectures, it is your responsibility to support responsible and safe conduct amongst members of your group. A group member behaving irresponsibly may affect the whole group, so please look out for your friends and colleagues.
    By signing up to the Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference, you agree that you have read and understood the rules listed above, and understand that there may be consequences associated with my failure to follow them.
  • Registration Fee - (Students/Postgraduates/Unwaged) (GBP 55.00)

  • Durham Student Registration Fee (GBP 20.00)
    This fee is applicable to current Durham undergraduate and postgraduate students.
    The Student Fee DOES NOT include a place on the On-Site Lectures, but does allow access to the conference opening, reception, and the TRAC party. Delegates will also have the option to book onto the pre-conference excursions and the conference dinner for a fee.
    And a limited number of conference packs will be available.
