Josephine Butler College Membership Fees 2020-21
Monday, 28 September 2020 to Friday, 25 June 2021
By paying the JCR membership fee, you will become a member of Josephine Butler JCR. The JCR membership is a fund which helps us put on our amazing events throughout the year, including Freshers’ Week, and large events such as Winter Ball and Summer Ball. It also helps fund our groups and campaigns, such as buying in equipment for sports and societies, and helping towards welfare campaigns. These groups and events are accessible to all JCR members whether or not they live in college or live in private accommodation.
The membership costs £141 and is a one-off payment which applies to your entire time as a Josephine Butler undergraduate (3 year course). We ask that you pay this charge to ensure that we can keep producing these great events and that we are able to provide for all the sports, societies, and committees that you would like the join throughout your entire time at the college. If you do not wish to pay the JCR membership fee you will be asked to pay a premium for events and to join sports, societies, and committees. There are also some events which are restricted, and priority will be given to JCR members.
For Postgraduates the MCR membership fee costs £35 and confers membership of the MCR (including the JCR) for one year of your degree or the 4th year for Undergraduate students. The MCR together with the JCR make your college experience truly memorable, so #GetInvolved and be part of something special.
See the difference:
- Formals cost £5 more for non-members
- Ball tickets cost an extra £10 for non members
- Subs for societies cost extra for non-members
- Some events are only available to members
- Our college day, a large event with live music throughout the day and night is free for members but there is a charge for non-members
As well as the membership fee, you can also opt in to some other options! One of these is a donation to the college association. This fund includes support for running and stocking the College Library and support for students to bid for assets, development projects and opportunities during your time at the college. In the past students have used it for things like expanding the college allotment and buying new equipment for their sports teams!
You can no longer pay for the JCR levy by using this site. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details on how to arrange your payment.
