A weekend of music

(1 June 2020)

Each year, over 1,200 of our students perform 80 musical concerts and one of the highlights is undoubtedly our end of year concert, Stage and Screen.

In 2019, over 500 of our talented students and 17 different ensembles, including orchestras, choirs and bands, were joined by our Chancellor and renowned opera singer, Sir Thomas Allen, for a truly spectacular evening of uplifting movie favourites.

This year, things are quite different. Because we can't all be together in Durham Cathedral, we're bringing the music to you at home.

From 6pm on Friday 5 June a professional recording of Stage and Screen 2019, will be available to view for 48 hours. It's a great opportunity to grab some popcorn and get together virtually with your friends to enjoy some of the best music that Durham has to offer.

Experience Durham online

We may not all be able to be together in Durham at the moment, but we are still very much a community.

We are bringing together a wide range of events and activities for everyone to take part in, learn from and enjoy. From music and theatrical performances to exhibitions and online groups, there are lots of ways to stay involved and connected with your friends and community, no matter where you are right now.

Watch Stage and Screen 2019 online between 6pm on Friday 5 June to 6pm on Sunday 7 June.
