Playing our part in a very Durham Christmas

(25 November 2019)

From Neville's Cross Christmas Festival 2018

We love to join our local communities in celebrating together, and what better time to do so than Christmas?

Durham City’s Traditional Christmas Festival

We’re once again hosting Durham’s Christmas Festival on Palace Green, and many of our student musicians will be among those providing entertainment across the weekend.

Plus, Durham Castle will be open for tours.

And while you're on Palace Green, why not pop into our new exhibition celebrating County Durham artist Norman Cornish? ‘The Sketchbooks’ is at Palace Green Library until February 2020.

Durham Christmas Festival takes place from Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December.

Neville’s Cross Christmas Festival

The following week, staff and students from our Ustinov College will be helping to run Neville’s Cross Christmas Festival.

The College will host Father Christmas, a puppet show and lantern making at its Sheraton Park home on Friday 6 December from 3pm.

At 5.15pm there will be a lantern walk to the nearby St John’s Church, where there will be a short carol service at 6pm.

This is the second year the College has been part of the celebration. Last year, 600 people attended.
