Students take to Gala stage for literary classic

(18 September 2019)

Our students will perform Lord of the Flies at the Gala Theatre later this month – and tickets are on sale now!

Adding to Durham’s culture scene

We have one of the most vibrant student theatre scenes anywhere in the country.

Over 700 of our students are actively involved in theatre, Durham Student Theatre includes 27 companies and our shows are regularly chosen for the National Student Drama Festival.

Tell me about Lord of the Flies…

It’s the first time Durham County Council’s Gala Theatre has co-produced a show with Durham Student Theatre.

Our students will take the on-stage roles, supported by a professional director and theatre designer.

Performances will take place at 7.30pm each day from Monday 30 September to Saturday 5 October, except Wednesday 2 October when the show starts at 6pm. There will be extra performances at 1pm on Tuesday 1 and Thursday 3 October.

Tickets are priced £10 to £16. To book, visit the Gala website.

What’s next?

We’re looking forward to our Assembly Rooms Theatre reopening in November. We’re in the final stages of a year-long, £2.4m refurbishment.
