Students help young people commemorate Armistice

Three student volunteers are helping young people commemorate 100 years since the First World War ended.

Durham University students Helena Trebichavska, Charlotte Penston and Alice Stone are supporting Enter CIC, a County Durham-based theatre company and social enterprise, to present a gala of youth remembrance the centenary of the 1918 armistice.

Helena, from College of St Hild and St Bede, Charlotte, from Grey College, and Alice, from University College, will be part of a 300-strong show, assisting with backstage and technical work.

When, where and how to get tickets

Called ‘Honoured’, the performance will be in the Borough Hall on the Headland, Hartlepool, on October 24 and 25, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Tickets for the two performances are now on sale priced £15 and are available at or from the Box Office on 01429 890000 or Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre in Church Square (open Tuesdays to Fridays 10am-4.30pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm).

Around 200 local pupils will be joining local veterans, members of the cadet forces and professional actors in a cast of over 300 in the event, which will combine theatre with specially written music and songs.
