University and City: Growing together

University and City: Growing together

Durham is a University rooted in our local communities. We are proud of the positive contribution we make to Durham City, economically, culturally, socially and through our world-leading research.

As a world top 100 university, we need to grow and develop to ensure our long-term sustainability and continued success. We want to do this in a way that benefits everyone in our great city and region.

Growing together, Listening together

We have recently committed to:

  • Establish a Community Relations Task Force and appoint a full-time Community Liaison Officer to work with our neighbours
  • Match-fund, with Durham Constabulary, a uniformed police presence in term time
  • Continue part-funding, with Durham County Council, a Neighbourhood Warden for Durham City

We acknowledge there is more to do, and we welcome your comments and suggestions.
